Our fire
safety house is openly available to any fire department or municipality for your fire safety education programs. The
house teaches children how to evacuate a burning home by crawling through dense smoke.
The following are principles that we aim to teach with
our fire safety house:
- Crawling low through smoke
- The principles of smoke detectors
- How to feel doors for heat and whether
or not to use that door.
- The importance of preplanning for
emergencies in the home
- Having a meeting place outside of
the home
- Having two ways out of every room
The house features two classrooms. The downstairs
of the house is made up of a bedroom, hallway, and control room. The upstairs features an additional bedroom, closet,
deck and stairwell.
